Amendment 2-Medical Marijuana

Since we woke up to find out that medical marijuana was passed in my state of Florida, I thought I would touch on this just a bit.

I think there is a large misconception that there will be a huge rush to every street corner to purchase a “baggie” and a “blunt”….this is far from what medical marijuana and its intent is.  We all know that there were (and are) old world practices by use of herbs and other earthly goods that kept our ancestors healthy or treated their ailments long before the Big Pharma came along.  Do you think these just all went away? Well they didn’t!  Here is a small proven list of what marijuana & the NATURAL chemicals within the plant can help aid:

  • Glaucoma
  • Epileptic seizures
  • Aids to stop some cancers from spreading
  • Decreases anxiety
  • Slows to progression of Alzheimer’s
  • Eases the pain of MANY conditions like MS
  • Helps control muscle spasms
  • Lessens side effects of MANY conditions like Hepatitis C
  • Helps IBS, Colitis,  and Crones
  • Relieves arthritis
  • Improves the symptoms of Lupus
  • Soothes tremors associated with Parkinson’s
  • Helps PTSD
  • IMMENSELY helps with side effects of chemo and stimulates the appetite

It is far from sitting around in a hippy circle & hugging a tree, getting high out of your gourd and munching out on cereal….There are various ways that the treatment is actually administered such as:

  • Vaping the chemical compounds
  • Ingesting
  • Using tinctures
  • Using sub-lingual sprays
  • Transdermal patches
  • Suppositories
  • Topical creams and oils
  • drinking beverages made with the chemical compounds

There are also specific strands and potencies that are researched and looked at.  I know people, close friends, who have taken this route and it is not easy nor “socially fun” like some may believe.  It is difficult, expensive and frightening to say the least.  I am extremely proud at any action that can place our Nation on a more natural path regardless of what decision I may personally choose if faced with the choice.  We must start to spend time and money learning ways to get back to where we once were in an effort to not only become educated on all possibilities but to give choices to those with little.
